Shipping policy

Hello, I am one human being in a studio in Lisbon. But this is a shop and so you probably want to know what my shipping policy is. You are somewhere in the world and you would simply like to know when I will send your purchases to you, how long it will take and how much it will cost you.

Okay, so here we go:

ORDER PROCESSING:

I am a single person making things and so please allow 28 days to process your order. Expect an email within that time to let you know your order is on the way!
Now, obviously I will try to get your item to you as soon as I possibly can. But if I guarantee it here, it would probably make you really upset if I were not able to bring the item to the post office or to fedex or whatever way I might end up shipping to you.

Mail Art is a little bit different. It is sent within a few days via regular mail from the Ajuda post office. Expect the "AJUDA" post office stamp on the work.

STUDIO PICKUP - in Rua dos Quartéis 14, in 1300 Lisbon (in beautiful Portugal)

Just send me a message via email or the shop and we can arrange a pickup. This is actually my preferred method of getting the work to you. I will even give you a free coffee or tea at the café around the corner. Larger items might qualify for a free lunch. If you drink, I can get you a beer.

LOCAL DELIVERY

During checkout, enter your address and choose the ship option. Click the "continue to shipping" button. Local delivery is available for addresses within a fairly normal distance of the shop. Let’s say in Ajuda and Belem and maybe much of Lisbon. The local delivery option does not show up during checkout, because I am a human being in a studio, not a programming department. 

Let’s then do something similar to the pickup option. But I am not going to bring you the work and get you a drink. You can get me a tea. I do not drink coffee. We can also have a beer, if you drink. Or a glass of wine. Or an orange juice. 
But I am not sure I should be buying that, because I will be bringing you something that you could have as well picked up at the studio.

FREE SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING

I am giving up calculating how much it will be to ship what to where. So all shipping for everything is FREE. If you want items shipped by some special courier and have it shipped in some very special way, please let me know and we can figure out how to achieve this. Then it will not be free. But you are free to pick that if you would like.

But generally I will ship everything for free. I love the items I make and so I will do whatever I can to ship with a tracking number. Will send you that.

Mail art is sent via regular mail. Also for FREE.

DOMESTIC SHIPPING RATES AND ESTIMATES:

It’s FREE shipping on everything.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING:

I ship for FREE to most places around the world. If you are in some place where getting the work to you would be incredibly difficult then maybe support local artists and do not force me to try to ship to you. Or maybe pick up the work on your next visit to Lisbon. It is yours. I will take care of it for you.

Your order may be subject to import duties and taxes (including VAT), which are incurred once a shipment reaches your destination country. I can’t be responsible for these charges if they are applied and are your responsibility as the customer.
(This is kind of important, because you might end up paying something. But not for the shipping. That’s FREE)

REFUNDS,, RETURNS AND EXCHANGES

If you receive the item and really, really hate it, then gift it to someone you dislike. If that person is you, then just keep the item and tell everyone you show it to how much you hate it. But if you do not have anyone to show it to or gift it on to, then ship it back to me and I will refund you the purchase price. I can’t pay for the return shipping because again I am just a single person in a studio.

I can’t offer refunds and returns on Mail art. By the time you receive it, it will have your address on it. Again, if you really hate it, then tell others. You should obviously also tell people if you love it.

In the event that your order arrives damaged in any way, please email me. In some cases I might know someone who would be able to repair the item. Or you can send it back to me and I will reassemble it and make it a new item. I will then refund you the purchase price. But I would need to decide on a case by case basis if I should also refund you your shipping. Because... I mean you know. I am a...

EXHIBITION LOANS

It could happen that the item you purchased is among the best things I have ever made. And if I have an exhibition in which this item would be amazing, then I will ask you if you could please loan the item for the duration of the exhibition. For that I might ask you to ship it either to me or to a location of the exhibition. 
I will cover the costs of that. And the return to you too.
But, because of that, it might be a good idea to keep the packaging in which I sent you the work. And so then you will be able to send it better.
Some of the items come in a special box. You might want to keep that too.
