Star Resonance / OURS / Lisbon Design Week

"Star Resonance" was an exhibition of drawings, objects and living organisms during Lisbon Design Week 2025. 

"At its heart, Star Resonance is a meditation on connection. We look beyond the surface of things, beyond forms, interventions, and the boundaries we draw between man and nature and recognise the deeper unity that binds us all. Every material in this space, every object and organism, even the artist, is part of a continuous flow of energy and matter. The idea of “resonance” with the stars becomes the cosmic matter running through the exhibition: an invitation to see ourselves not as separate, but as fundamentally intertwined with everything around us."

It was the first event at OURS, a new cultural space right on Estrela Park, created by Musician Richie Hawtin and Art Historian Laura Käding. They are offering the space to become a cultural meeting place on the intersection of Japanese and European culture, art and ideas, Japanese Sake, Tea and pop-ups.

It was also my first show in Lisbon. Many fascinating people visited and from the emerging conversations it feels like the beginning of something wonderful ahead.

The exhibition featured some recently created drawings and ceramic objects. I also created a series of unique sake cups or ochoko (お猪口) for the exhibition. Many of the items in the show found new homes or entered private collections. But some are still available here.
