This Chawan was hand carved from 1kg of Iberian clay and then fired in a reduced oxygen soda environment. Then it was fired again at 1250 degrees celsius and is a now a stoneware ceramic. The artefacts on the surface of the of the object are created from melted soda. The object is very resilient and can, when taken good care of, last for many hundreds years. 11x11x8cm 220g
Useable for matcha. Should not be used for regular food items. And also should not be anywhere near dishwashers and the like. To be cleaned carefully with a wet cloth.
