It’s smoke (soot) on shikishi board. This drawing sits somewhere on the edge between something we think we can recognize and something that we do not. Do we recognize figures or are they not really there. What makes them appear if not our own understanding of the reality around us. We are all made from the same materials. Same matter that emerges from stars and is fed by stars.
