'Summer' is a limited edition print from the Singapore Seal series of serigraphs, produced in an edition of 25. Each print measures 300x420mm (A3) and is made on Italian acid-free, FSC® Certified, museum-grade 300gsm matte paper with a natural white tone. The prints were hand-pulled under my supervision in a studio in Bischofsheim, Germany. Custom-mixed paints were used exclusively for this print run, a hallmark of my works on paper. To achieve the desired color strength, the design was printed in four layers, with drying intervals between each.
About the Artwork This piece is based on my Seal adaptive drawings, which start with a small cell or circle and grow into forms that resonate with specific ideas, moments, or places. These drawings reflect my body’s memory and feature my signature hand-guided brushstrokes. The original ink drawing was adapted for serigraphy during the summer and fall of 2022. Each print is signed, numbered, and stamped with the same red seal I used for drawings that year, marking them as 2022 editions. The colours of the four smaller prints were inspired by the seasons as experienced near the Main river in Germany, where they were printed.
